Do you have a classroom that is experiencing challenges supporting children's social emotional development or adjustment to the COVID-19 disruptions?

Do you know a child experiencing difficulties in a child care setting?
  • challenging behavior
  • difficulty with peer interaction
  • aggression
  • extreme shyness
  • trouble following classroom routines
  • problems with attention that interfere with the child’s learning

Project ACT's Early Childhood Behavior Consultation services provide FREE support to child care providers through coaching and mentoring. Classroom Support Specialists and Inclusion Specialists work with providers and families to develop individualized plans containing strategies to support the classroom and children with special needs or behavior concerns. Project ACT can serve children age Birth-5 through this program.

Project ACT Specialists do not diagnose children, provide direct services such as speech therapy to children, or act as a child's 1-on-1 aid.

Find more details about this service by reading our ProjectACT Model of Services 2019. If you'd like to know more, call us at 410-828-7700 x1226.

WHO

Our early childhood consultation services are designed to address the social and emotional needs of children who are in family child care, a child care center, private preschool settings or out of school time programs. Children with developmental delays, social emotional challenges, or simply having difficulty adjusting to their child care program may be eligible for these free services

WHAT

Our program supports staff and families in managing challenging behaviors and promoting healthy social and emotional development in order to foster school readiness, so that all children can be included successfully in their community settings. We work with parents and child care providers to address issues and support inclusion for all children.
